All 129 conservation populations and their occupied streams — filter, sort, and map the data on a live topographic basemap. Bakevich, Paggen & Felt (2019).

📍 Markers are geocoded to the named stream via OpenStreetMap and the USGS GNIS gazetteer — each solid dot sits on (or at the mouth of) its actual creek. A minority of small tributaries aren't in either gazetteer; those show as faded/dashed dots placed beside a mapped neighbour in the same drainage. Points mark the stream, not the exact occupied reach. Colour = population density (highest fish/mi among its streams). Two independent stream overlays in the layer switcher (top-right): blue RGCT stream traces = the full USGS NHD centreline of each creek a population is on (the population occupies part of it — see the reach's Km); red NM Special Trout Waters = NMDGF designated reaches (the popup gives the exact occupied stretch). Toggle either; click a stream for details.
